Project Objective
A Space for Drinks, Dining, and Pickleball
Electric Pickle was created to combine the growing sport of pickleball with a family-friendly environment, quality cuisine, and cocktails. Safety, durability, and luxury were equally important when selecting materials. When the Electric Pickle team approached our distributor, A&A Patios, Parallel aluminum products stood out for their strength, longevity, versatility, and range of finishes.
With Parallel’s aluminum screen system, the team achieved all their goals. The Pacific Kwila finish complemented the overall design while adding warmth and natural elements to the outdoor courts. Plus, using our advanced aluminum extrusions, the installation was able to achieve sound abatement while also providing effective coverage for players and spectators.
Project Design and Features
Seamless Integration with Existing Design
The Electric Pickle team sought durable materials for their court structures that would complement the existing materials throughout the project. Parallel’s Pacific Kwila finish proved to be the ideal solution – offering a warm, inviting woodgrain appearance with a clean, modern aesthetic.
Durability in a High Traffic Environment
The court-side cabanas needed to withstand not only daily crowds but also the impact of rackets, balls, and Arizona’s intense heat. Parallel’s powder-coated and sublimated aluminum systems were the perfect solution — featuring non-warping, non-combustible aluminum and resilient, fade-resistant finishes.
A Comfortable Space for Dining and Leisure
The cabanas serve dual purposes as both sideline retreats and dining spaces. They feature ample room for dining furniture, along with fans, heaters, and TVs for comfort. The aluminum structures also provide excellent sound dampening — reducing pickleball match noise for both diners and neighboring residents.
